CANDIDATE FORUMS

The Bloomington League of Women Voters hosts candidate forums where members of the public can ask the candidates to local and state offices questions that are important to the voters. Candidate forums are held in September and October of election years.

Voters attending the forum have two opportunities to submit questions to the candidates.

  2. Before the forum, voters can submit questions via email to the Bloomington league email address. The identity of those who submit questions will remain confidential.

All questions are screened by a League committee to ensure that the questions are applicable to all candidates. Candidates do not receive the questions in advance of the forum, and all questions remain the property of the League of Women Voters Bloomington.

The League of Women Voters Minnesota and our local Leagues conduct candidate forums to provide the public with an opportunity to hear candidates discuss the issues that are important to members of the public. The League is a nonpartisan organization that does not support or oppose any political party or candidate. The views expressed in each forum are those of the candidates, not those of the League of Women Voters. LWV Minnesota and our local Leagues post complete, unedited recordings of forums.
